The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Cainta celebrated its 2nd year of founding Anniversary through holding an assembly and a symposium that was held on March 19, 2011 in the People’s Center, Municipal Compound. Different Youth organizations from different barangay in Cainta attended the assembly including those 7 newly organized barangay federation PYAP officers and members that came from brgy. Sto. Domingo, brgy. San Andres, brgy. San Roque, brgy. San Isidro, brgy. Sta. Rosa, brgy. San Juan and brgy. Sto. Niño. Mayor Ramon Ilagan and Madame Veron Ilagan are also there to give inspirational messages to the youth. The Rizal Provincial PYAP Focal Person Ms. Carolina Elaydo was also there to give her support to the newly PYAP officers. The said program also aimed to reorganize the PYAP Municipal Federation. The program started at exactly 10:00 in the morning. The MSWD-Cainta staff, founded with Ms. Ma. Christina Santiago, the PYAP Focal Chair Person, was the one who organized the event with the helping hand of municipal employers and PYAP incumbent officers.
                The program started with a very heartfelt music video that serves as an opening prayer entitled “Lord I Offer” which the video shows the interconnection between God and the young people that was truly an enlightened the mind of the participants. It was followed by the National Anthem. The Masters of Ceremony were Mr. Mark Russel Mariano and Mr. John Rey Labong, both members of PYAP Cainta. The incumbent PYAP Cainta Mr. Norman Alfaro gave his inspirational message to the upcoming PYAP Officers and shares his experiences in different symposiums and seminars that he attended during his term.
                 John Rey Labong re-echoed and reported the Regional PYAP Symposium that he attended last July 2009 through giving a PowerPoint presentation that was about Global Warming and Climate Change and about Disaster Risk Management. Mayor Mon Ilagan also shares his ideas regarding the matters on climate change. He gives the youth some advice on how to help save the nature. Mayor Mon gives interpretation to the letters of PYAP, and it was worth meaningful for the youth to bear in mind. It was intimation for the youth to be productive and to work harder to reach the goal in life and intersperse our knowledge and what we have experienced. PYAP Cainta Focal Person Ms. Ma. Christina Santiago gives her PYAP report about the programs for the youth that was planned and to be done. All officers from different barangay were called for the oath taking ceremony headed by Mayor Mon.
                Then at 12’oclock the participants were given 30 minutes lunch break and while eating the PYAP Cainta theme song was sang by PYAP members from Bagong Silang West Floodway Ms. Clarissa Rosela and Mr. Jeffrey Amistoso. The PYAP Brgy. San Isidro also gives a jolly dance number.
                Then the program came up with a Team Building session. Mr. Angelo B. Apostol was the one holding the session. He stated the most important part of being a leader and he stated that everyone can be a leader and everyone must know that he can be a leader. The youth were given a team building games wherein the youth was grouped according to the barangay they belong. The purpose of the game is to know oneself common qualities and their Uniqueness. And the mechanics is to ask each member what he/she has and what he/she doesn’t have. It was really a fun team building games. The PYAP members and officers have come up with their observation after they have given their common qualities and uniqueness. Each group was to choose two representatives to discuss what they have written on their manila paper. The table below shows the PYAP team game report.

After the team building game, Mr. Angelo discussed the importance of leadership and the importance of knowing how to hold an organization. He also shares the “Inverted Pyramid” which has great representation of an organization. It was a good topic for a youth leaders to bear in mind fro the organization to stay longer.
                        The PYAP Presidents in different barangay were called for a Municipal Federation election through secret balloting. And latter was announced in the program. The following was announced as the new PYAP Cainta Federation officers:

                It’s been a long day, and the PYAP celebration is over. The faces of different youth from different barangay have different reactions and of course, all were ended happy and tired. The most important now is to stay on the right path for the PYAP to stay longer and make difference.
